Στην αποτυχία της ΕΕ να διαχειριστεί τις κρίσεις με αποτέλεσμα τρεις πόλεμοι να απειλούν την παγκόσμια σταθερότητα επικεντρώθηκε ο ιδρυτής και πρόεδρος του ναυτιλιακού ομίλου Capital Maritime & Trading Corp και βασικός μέτοχος της Alter Ego Media, Βαγγέλης Μαρινάκης κατά την ομιλία του στο 5ο Thessaloniki Metropolitan Summit.
Όπως είπε χαρακτηριστικά βρισκόμαστε σε «αχαρτογράφητα νερά» και η Ευρώπη λόγω των αποτυχιών της έχει πληρώσει το μεγαλύτερο τίμημα και θα συνεχίσει να το κάνει.
Πάντως δεν έκρυψε την ανησυχία του για τους 3 πολέμους, δηλαδή, για τον πόλεμο μεταξύ Ρωσίας και Ουκρανίας, ο οποίος διαρκεί τριάμισι χρόνια, τον πόλεμο μεταξύ Ισραήλ και Παλαιστίνης (δεν αναφέρθηκε μόνο στην Χαμάς) ο οποίος διαρκεί και αυτός δύο χρόνια και τον πόλεμο μεταξύ του Ισραήλ και του Ιράν, που ουσιαστικά δεν τελειώνει ποτέ.
Όπως είπε ανησυχεί για τις εμπορικές οδούς καθώς η μεταφορά ενέργειας διαδραματίζει κρίσιμο ρόλο σε παγκόσμιο επίπεδο. Κάνει τον κόσμο να γυρίζει.
«Ζούμε σε μια περίοδο που χαρακτηρίζεται από αυξημένη γεωπολιτική πολυπλοκότητα.
Για να χρησιμοποιήσω μια ναυτική αναλογία, πλέουμε σε αχαρτογράφητα νερά.
Αντιμετωπίζουμε τρεις μεγάλες συγκρούσεις που εξακολουθούν να ενέχουν τον κίνδυνο παραπέρα αποσταθεροποίησης:
τον συνεχιζόμενο πόλεμο μεταξύ Ρωσίας και Ουκρανίας, τη σύγκρουση μεταξύ Ισραήλ και Παλαιστίνης και το κλείσιμο της Διώρυγας του Σουέζ από τους Χούθι, καθώς και τον πόλεμο με το Ιράν.
Όλα αυτά επηρεάζουν το παγκόσμιο εμπόριο, τις ροές ενέργειας και τη ναυτιλία. Άμεσα, στην περίπτωση του πολέμου στην Ουκρανία, λόγω των κυρώσεων που επιβλήθηκαν στη Ρωσία.
Έμμεσα, στην περίπτωση του πολέμου στη Γάζα, λόγω των επιπτώσεων στην ευρύτερη περιοχή της Μέσης Ανατολής και λόγω του αυξημένου κινδύνου για τη ναυτιλία στην Ερυθρά Θάλασσα από τους Χούθι.
Και υπάρχει πάντα ο κίνδυνος μιας νέας σύγκρουσης με το Ιράν, η οποία ενέχει τον κίνδυνο σοβαρής διαταραχής των ροών πετρελαίου, δεδομένης της σημασίας των Στενών του Ορμούζ.
Σε αυτό πρέπει να προστεθεί η νέα κατεύθυνση που έχει πάρει η αμερικανική πολιτική υπό τον Ντόναλντ Τραμπ.
Ο Τραμπ φαίνεται να είναι πιο αποφασιστικός από ό,τι στην προηγούμενη θητεία του και πιο έτοιμος να αναλάβει πρωτοβουλίες που αλλάζουν τους «κανόνες του παιχνιδιού», ειδικά με την εκτεταμένη χρήση δασμών.
Από την άλλη πλευρά, ο Τραμπ φαίνεται να είναι πιο πρόθυμος να τερματίσει τις συγκρούσεις και να αποφύγει τους «αιώνιους πολέμους» και πρέπει να δούμε πώς θα εξελιχθούν οι τελευταίες του πρωτοβουλίες να συζητήσει με τον Πούτιν μια πιθανή ειρηνευτική συμφωνία με την Ουκρανία.
Ταυτόχρονα, πρέπει να δούμε πώς θα εξελιχθεί η σχέση – και η διαπραγμάτευση – ανάμεσα στις ΗΠΑ και τη Ρωσία. Θα οδηγήσει σε κάποια μορφή συμφωνίας που θα βοηθήσει το παγκόσμιο εμπόριο ή θα οδηγήσει και πάλι σε κάποια μορφή εμπορικού πολέμου;
Ορισμένες πτυχές της αμερικανικής οικονομικής πολιτικής είναι αντιφατικές: για χρόνια, προσπάθησαν να καλλιεργήσουν καλές σχέσεις με την Ινδία. Τώρα επιβάλλουν κυρώσεις στην Ινδία, και η Ινδία αυξάνει τη συνεργασία της με τη Ρωσία και την Κίνα.
Επιπλέον, φυσικά, πρέπει να δούμε πώς θα εξελιχθούν άλλες πτυχές της πολιτικής του Τραμπ, όπως η προσπάθειά του να πιέσει την Ομοσπονδιακή Τράπεζα να μειώσει τα επιτόκια, κάτι που ορισμένοι θεωρούν πρόκληση για την απαραίτητη ανεξαρτησία της κεντρικής τράπεζας, αλλά ταυτόχρονα οποιαδήποτε μείωση θα είναι επωφελής για την οικονομία και τα χρηματιστήρια.

Και δυστυχώς, θα συνεχίσουμε να το κάνουμε. Πιστεύω ότι ορισμένες από αυτές τις προκλήσεις ισχύουν και για τη Βρετανία, μια χώρα που μπορεί επίσης να διαδραματίσει σημαντικό ρόλο σε πρωτοβουλίες για την ειρήνη και τη σταθερότητα.
Μπορούμε να είμαστε αισιόδοξοι; Είναι δύσκολο να πούμε. Αλλά σίγουρα όχι, αν η Ευρώπη συνεχίσει στον ίδιο δρόμο των τελευταίων τριών ετών.
Ωστόσο, σε κάποιο σημείο, πρέπει να καταλάβουμε ότι η επίλυση των συγκρούσεων είναι καλύτερη από τη διαχείριση των συγκρούσεων, και αυτός πρέπει να είναι ο στόχος.

Οι εφοδιαστικές αλυσίδες μπορούν να επηρεαστούν τόσο από τη γεωπολιτική αστάθεια όσο και από την πιθανότητα ενός εμπορικού πολέμου. Όλα αυτά έχουν ένα κόστος.
Σε αυτές τις δύσκολες εποχές, ο ρόλος των μεγάλων ναυτιλιακών εταιρειών, όπως η Capital Group, η οποία είναι ένας σημαντικός μεταφορέας πετρελαίου και φυσικού αερίου, είναι ακόμη πιο στρατηγικά σημαντικός για την ενεργειακή απόδοση των χωρών της Δύσης και παγκοσμίως.
Η Capital Group διαθέτει συνολικά 154 σύγχρονα πλοία με μεταφορική ικανότητα περίπου 12,5 εκατομμυρίων τόνων. Ο στόλος της περιλαμβάνει δεξαμενόπλοια, πλοία μεταφοράς εμπορευματοκιβωτίων, 30 υπερσύγχρονα πλοία μεταφοράς υγροποιημένου φυσικού αερίου (LNG), υγραερίου (LPG)/αμμωνίας, υγροποιημένου διοξειδίου του άνθρακα (CO2), υπεράκτια πλοία και πλοία μεταφοράς ξηρού χύδην φορτίου, με εμπορική αξία 13 δισεκατομμυρίων δολαρίων.
Ο στόλος που διαχειρίζεται περιλαμβάνει τα πλοία της Capital Clean Energy Carriers Corp. («CCEC»), η οποία είναι εισηγμένη στο χρηματιστήριο του Nasdaq.
